Hey Dae! Well, after a long time coming I'm hoping to finally have some time and figure my way through Cakewalk Guitar tracks 3.0. I've had the program for a while, just no time to play with it yet. I fooled around with a questionable version of Cubase SX3 without much luck. And even running a 2.8G AMD/1 G ram/200G HD machine it still seemed to bog the ram down. And of course, I'm stuck using the stupid pastel inputs with adaptor/jack set-up you mentioned. But I guess it's better than nothing! After working night shift, doing the married with kids thing for the last ten years I have a lot of music rolling around in the 'ol gray matter...gotta get some of it recorded! I'll work on the sound quality and finer points of DAWdom as I go along. I've been looking at a Zoom multi-effects pedal that has a USB output and supposedly really low latency. The last band I was in in the mid-nineties I wound up selling most of my guitar stuff off to buy bass equipment (Ibanez six-string, Hartke Amp, Tube works 4x10). After playing DreamTheater,Rush, Queensryche,King's X covers as well as our own stuff in the same progressive vein I moved out of town to NY. After moving back here again, I rediscovered my roots again with the guitar. So, I appreciate the tips - just need to make the time and come up with the funds to do it right! SO, enough of my babble...gotta go do some work before the night's over!
